A teenage kid pilots a solar-powered robot that runs on pure charm and slapstick. The show knows exactly what it is: 40 episodes of Banjou using an unstoppable machine to solve problems by hitting things, then cracking jokes about it. Every Meganoid that shows up gets demolished with the same casual energy you'd bring to swatting a fly, and the show never pretends the stakes are higher than they actually are.

Banjou Haran's life shatters when his father's creations turn against him. The Meganoids, cyborgs designed by scientist Souzou Haran to think for themselves on Mars, run out of control and kill the doctor and his family, sparing only his youngest son, sixteen-year-old Banjou. He escapes Mars by rocket with Daitarn 3, a solar-powered super robot built from the planet's special metals. Two years later, Banjou lives on Earth in a luxurious mansion and battles the Meganoids, who aim to turn every human into a cyborg to supposedly improve the species. He fights alongside his loyal butler Garrison and two companions, Reika and Beauty, in a sci-fi mecha series from 1978.
