Nagi saying "that's a hassle" until Reo walks in and rewires his entire existence is the actual love story Blue Lock Season 1 didn't have time to tell. The movie lets you watch a brilliant kid get dragged into caring about something, which lands harder on a theater screen than it ever could in recap. Fair warning: you're paying for 80 minutes of Season 1 you've already seen, plus the one relationship that actually mattered.

Nagi Seishirou coasts through his second year of high school in a haze of indifference. Everything feels like a hassle, and he's fine with that. Then Reo Mikage crashes into his orbit, a classmate burning with ambition to win the World Cup. Reo sees something in Nagi that nobody else has noticed: a raw, instinctive talent for soccer. Pulled away from his lazy routine and into Reo's world, Nagi starts playing the game. Later an invitation arrives from the mysterious BLUE LOCK Project, where he comes face to face with top strikers drawn from all over the country. Chasing the dream of reaching the top together with Reo, the reluctant prodigy heads into a world he has never known. This sports drama film is a spin-off of Blue Lock centered on Nagi.
