In the second film of the Bousei no Volicia trilogy, Akio learns what fate awaits the world at the Astronomy Club, the final stronghold left to humanity. Two Usurpers remain, and both are after the dimmed Fire of Life, so two pilots must take them on. When the fight against the second enemy arrives under a curse tied to happy times, Akio has to choose between holding on to a joyful present and giving her soul to the future. The film mixes mecha action and science fiction with romance.
