SYNOPSIS
Four unlikely animal companions stumble upon an alien named Rondo fleeing across the wasteland. When they rescue him from certain danger, the grateful visitor bestows upon them a miraculous gift: the ability to transform into human form. Eager to explore this new existence, Coda the cat, Alegro the dog, Largo the donkey, and Minuet the chicken venture into civilization for the first time as humans. What they discover in the towns and cities shakes them to their core. War consumes everything around them. Violence spreads like disease through streets they thought would welcome them. The innocent suffer while those in power scheme and strategize. The four friends, still carrying the compassion of their animal hearts, grapple with human cruelty and the machinery of destruction that defines this world. Their journey becomes less about wonder and more about understanding the darkness humans create. Rondo's peace mission suddenly feels impossibly difficult. These four transformed souls must decide whether they can change hearts hardened by conflict, or if some wars run too deep to stop.
