This is a show that treats every episode like an excuse to blow something up and crack a joke at the same time. The cast actually has chemistry that goes beyond their archetypes, Rio and Maya's banter carries entire scenes where nothing plot-critical happens, and somehow that's the point. It knows exactly what it is: a 90s action comedy that would rather nail the comedic timing on a ridiculous premise than waste time explaining why mechanical insects are terrorizing the city.

Team Warrior is a special anti-terror unit within the Neo-Tokyo Police, run by the mysterious Maki. Its members include Rio, who is always short on money, the gun-obsessed Maya, computer expert Lilica, technician Nanvel, and Yuji, the team's pilot and resident peeping tom. Their missions range from bodyguard work and shutting down robberies and weapons deals to guarding an extremely powerful tank, with oddities like mechanical insects, jewel thieves who double as firefighters, and underwear raiders along the way. Again and again they foil the schemes of Ruby, an agent serving a secretive group of powerful men. The thirteen episodes mix action, comedy, science fiction and ecchi fan service.
