Candy arrives back at Pony's Home and meets a girl who has lost her parents and keeps apart from the other children. Hoping to lift the girl's spirits, Candy tells her own life story, starting from the day Miss Pony and Sister Lane found her. Her account runs all the way to her decision to leave her boarding school in England and set out on a path of her own. The result is a drama and slice of life film built around Candy's recollections.
