Soccer moves that defy physics the moment they leave a player's foot. Tsubasa and his rivals pull off shots so ridiculous that the ball curves through the air like it's possessed, and the show treats every goal like it matters more than actual tournament results. This is football stripped of realism and rebuilt as pure spectacle, where a kid's determination and a perfectly timed kick can change the entire direction of a match. The animation cuts corners hard, but it doesn't matter, you're not here for fluid movement, you're here to watch impossible technique clash against impossible technique across an international stage. Nostalgia carries some of the weight, sure. The real pull is simpler: soccer where the rules are what the characters decide they are.

Tsubasa and Japan's brightest young soccer talents arrive in Paris for the International Junior Youth Tournament, where they will test themselves against top players from around the world. Alongside Tsubasa are Misaki, Wakabayashi, Hyuga and Wakashimazu, forming an elite Japanese squad. Waiting for them are Schneider of Germany, Pierre of France, Diaz of Argentina and Hernandez of Italy, plus many other new rivals. This second season of the 2018 Captain Tsubasa adaptation is an action-packed sports story built around high-stakes international matches.
