Cencoroll 2 assumes that trust still holds, but deepens the mystery instead of resolving it. What made the first film extraordinary was animation that breathed like something alive was on screen, and this sequel doesn't abandon that standard. It moves the conversation forward without explaining what anything fundamentally is, because the point was never to explain Cenco. The point was always the kid trying to protect something impossible from a world that wants to kill it.

Cencoroll 2 is a 2019 sci-fi action film that continues the story of Cencoroll. Tetsu, a high school student, secretly lives with a white creature he has named Cenco, which can change its shape to stay out of sight. Yuki, a girl from his school, knows his secret. After a clash with a strange boy named Shuu, the trouble seems to be over, until a girl called Kaname arrives searching for Shuu. Her arrival sets off fresh developments for Tetsu, Yuki and Cenco. The sequel was shown together with the first film in a combined screening titled Cencoroll Connect.
