Anime Like Chronicles of the Going Home Club
The comedy doesn't need a punchline to land, just four girls in a room saying the next ridiculous thing that pops into their heads. SYNOPSIS
Natsuki casually jokes about joining "the go-home club" when asked about her extracurriculars, meaning she plans to skip clubs altogether. The joke lands differently when she discovers the club is real, and her offhand comment counts as an application. Now she's stuck as the newest recruit for a group that's equal parts mysterious and completely unhinged. Her fellow members are a collection of personalities that defy easy categorization. One girl is obsessed with fighting bears. Another casually mentions the absurd wealth her family possesses like it's nothing. A third exists in a perpetual state of deadpan commentary. Together, they operate under a mandate so vague it might as well not exist: they go home. That's it. That's the whole point. What unfolds is less about structured meetings or goals and more about the bizarre moments that occur when these girls spend time together doing absolutely nothing in particular. Comedy arrives through their strange chemistry and the ridiculous situations they stumble into while being fundamentally committed to not actually doing anything.
