The comedy doesn't need a punchline to land, just four girls in a room saying the next ridiculous thing that pops into their heads. Natsuki casually jokes about joining "the go-home club" when asked about her extracurriculars, meaning she plans to skip clubs altogether. The joke lands differently when she discovers the club is real and her offhand comment has signaled interest in joining. Invited by fellow freshman Karin, she ends up as one of two new recruits in a small group of eccentric girls. The president, Sakura, is a free spirit. Botan is the combative heir to an ancient martial arts school, and Claire is the daughter of the head of the powerful Kokonoe conglomerate. One member even enjoys fighting bears. The club's members simply do as they please, and just what its activities are remains a mystery Natsuki is not ready for. The result is a slice-of-life comedy built on the hijinks of this odd bunch.
