Nobody talks about this one. The sport itself is genuinely fun to watch, with every fighter bringing a completely different weapon and armor style that actually matters in combat. The chemistry between these six girls is where it lives, Yuuka's plum obsession, Nina stress-eating her way through matches, the weird tangents that pull you out of the game and into their actual lives. The plot barely holds together, but that's almost the point; this show knows what it cares about, and it's not pretending to be something heavier than it is. Light, silly, and weirdly rewatchable for a show built on fanservice and nothing else.

In the near future, a mixed reality system grown out of augmented reality technology has given rise to a new competitive e-sport called Circlet Bout. Schools battle to find the strongest club and player, and top high school competitors can become famous across the country. Yuuka Sasaki is mistaken for a challenger and ends up facing Chikage Fujimura, the best player in Japan. Despite her inexperience, she fights her to a draw, and the bout convinces her to take up the sport. Two years later she moves to Tokyo and enrolls at Saint Union Academy, hoping to face Chikage again, only to find the school's Circlet Bout club has been shut down. With the athletic Miyuki Kasahara and club manager Ayumu Aizawa, she sets out to revive the team and restore its past standing.
