This one doesn't build, it wanders, and that's the whole trick. Twelve episodes of Rosewood Academy where the strongest kid in the building just wants to be a normal student, and Arnest Flaming, the girl with the top record and the shortest fuse, has to babysit him into a curriculum he already outgrew. Blade's cheerful refusal to take any of it seriously is either the funniest running bit of the season or the reason you close the tab by episode three, and there is no middle ground on this one. Every episode sprints through its own little skit, the harem designs do a lot of heavy lifting, and then the final two episodes remember there was supposed to be a plot and actually swing for it. It never delivers the humbled-hero arc the setup promises. Watch it the way you'd watch Ranma reruns: no stakes, no homework, just noise you enjoy.

Rosewood Academy trains future heroes to defend humanity and admits only the most promising candidates. Arnest Flaming, a dutiful girl known as the Empress of Flames, holds the top record among its students. Her standing is shaken when Blade, a carefree and cheerful transfer student, turns out to be as powerful as she is, which irritates her.
