Shin-chan finds a trading card and suddenly his entire family is conscripted into stopping an alien invasion in another dimension, because the show understands that the funniest possible scenario is the least prepared people being the only ones who can fix it. The comedy isn't trying to be clever or subversive; it's just letting a five-year-old who says inappropriate things and his parents bumble through an apocalypse in their regular clothes. By the time you realize this is just an excuse to watch Shin-chan's chaos engine collide with sci-fi stakes, you've already stopped caring about the plot and started laughing at the absurdity of it working.

When Shinnosuke Nohara finds Action Mask card number 99, the rarest in the chocolate chip collection, he and his family are chosen for a mission in a parallel world. The Leotard Devil has stolen Action Mask's Action Stone, and without it the hero cannot get back to his own world, which is facing an alien invasion. Following a plan by Action Mask and Ririko, the Noharas are steered to a beach so they can cross over and help defeat the Leotard Devil. The film is a comedy fantasy adventure with action and ecchi touches, built around an ordinary family pulled into a superhero's fight.
