The English dub was given so much creative freedom that the voice actors basically wrote their own show over the source material, turning a forgettable ghost-of-the-week premise into something genuinely hilarious. Every episode lands jokes that have nothing to do with the script, riffing so hard on the setup that you stop caring about the plot entirely. Watch the Japanese version and you'll understand why nobody talks about this show; watch the dub and you'll wonder why everyone isn't.

Satsuki Miyanoshita and her brother Keiichirou are still grieving the death of their mother when the family moves to her hometown. The school they transfer into is an old building rumored to be haunted, and what they first dismiss as a silly story turns out to be true: the ghosts are real, and they are coming after the siblings. Long ago a student banished every spirit in the place, and now they have returned wanting revenge. When Satsuki finds an old book of spells left behind by her mother, she gains the power to fight them. With her friends and a wicked devil cat at her side, she has to protect the people around her from the school's ghosts. The 19-episode TV series mixes horror, mystery and the supernatural.
