Shin-chan loses his mind in space with a real alien princess, and the movie never stops finding new angles on his particular brand of stupid. The comedy lands because it commits completely to the bit instead of winking at the camera. You get the same rapid-fire gag density that makes the show work, except now it's happening in zero gravity with worse problems.

Shinnosuke gets into a fight with his little sister Himawari after she eats his crème caramel. Suddenly, two mysterious men turn up, and Shinnosuke, with no idea what it will lead to, signs a contract agreeing to leave Himawari in their care. The Nohara family is then carried off by UFO to Planet Himawari, home of an advanced alien civilization. There, Sunday Goronesky the Great announces that Himawari must become the planet's princess to rescue both Earth and Planet Himawari from a looming crisis. Shinnosuke and his parents set out on a desperate quest to bring her home in this action comedy set across the solar system.
