Shin-chan accidentally becomes the chosen hero of an interdimensional war and spends the entire movie being the worst possible version of that hero. The comedy isn't about him saving the world. It's about watching him stumble through prophecy, magic, and actual stakes while remaining completely, unapologetically himself. This is Crayon Shin-chan doing what it does best: taking a premise that could be serious and letting a five-year-old's id demolish it from the inside.

Dark, ruler of the dark world Don Kurai, schemes to conquer the human world. Legend in Don Kurai speaks of a hero and three treasures. Dark has seized one of them, a copper bell, but someone sent the other two, a golden spear and a silver shield, off to the human world. Shinnosuke is caught in Dark's trap and ends up opening the door between the two worlds, yet the golden spear chooses him as its hero. With the power of Mata Tami, a girl from Don Kurai, the Nohara family transform into all sorts of things to fight Dark. The result is a comic fantasy adventure about holding off invaders from another world.
