This show takes the magical girl formula and flips it by making the heroes five lazy boys who'd rather soak in a bathhouse than save the planet, then commits completely to the bit every single episode. Five high school guys have perfected the art of doing absolutely nothing. As members of Binan High's Earth Defense Club, they spend their days lounging at the nearby Kurotama Bath instead of defending anything. This peaceful existence shatters when a pink wombat appears out of nowhere and pushes them into saving the planet. Reluctant heroes at best, the group becomes the Battle Lovers, magical boys powered by love itself. They face a trio of villains who take orders from a green hedgehog, along with a parade of odd monsters, including one made of chikuwabu and a monstrous remote control. The result is a magical girl story turned on its head, with comedy and slice of life laziness mixed into every battle.
