Ryo doesn't get visions of the future, he gets them of girls dying right now, somewhere in the city, and he's the only one who can stop it. The show grabs you with genuine dread, a protagonist who actually feels hunted rather than chosen, and a willingness to let its horror stay ugly instead of prettifying it into spectacle. Animation budgets fail it halfway through, the pacing trips over itself, but by then Dante has already wormed into your head where production values don't matter.
