The Douma fight is pure animation violence, Ufotable doesn't just draw demons clashing, they deconstruct how a body moves when it's being shredded. The pacing craters under the weight of flashbacks that stop the movie cold mid-combat. For franchise loyalists, the spectacle carries you through; for everyone else, you're watching a TV arc stretched into theatrical format, and it shows.

Tanjiro Kamado stands at the threshold of his greatest trial yet. He joined the Demon Slayer Corps after his younger sister Nezuko was turned into a demon, and he has since fought beside Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira and several of the Hashira, the Corps' top swordsmen. While the Corps is preparing through the Hashira Training, Muzan Kibutsuji appears at the Ubuyashiki Mansion. Tanjiro and the Hashira race to defend their leader, but Muzan drops them into a strange space: the Infinity Castle, the demons' own fortress. There, the final war between the slayers and the demons begins. The film is the first part of a theatrical trilogy adapting the Infinity Castle Arc.
