Ufotable spent the entire runtime proving they can make you watch a sword clash for thirty seconds and have it mean something. The Swordsmith Village arc doesn't move fast, but every frame is designed to break your attention span into smaller, more beautiful pieces. By episode five you've stopped waiting for the next big moment and started living inside them instead.

Tanjiro Kamado's sword has been chipped beyond use, so he is escorted with his little sister Nezuko to Swordsmith Village to receive a new blade. The Demon Slayer Corps has guarded the village's location for centuries, because its forgers supply the weapons slayers use against demons. There Tanjiro meets two Hashira, the Corps' top-ranked swordsmen: Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji. Meanwhile, the death of an Upper Rank Demon unsettles the demon world, and a menacing power closes in on the hidden village, threatening the slayers' most vital source of strength. Across 11 episodes, this action fantasy season adapts the Swordsmith Village Arc of Koyoharu Gotouge's manga.
