The only way to fight a demon is to become one, and Akira's transformation is so visceral it doesn't feel like a power-up, it feels like a violation. This is Devilman at its rawest, before the mythology got complicated: pure body horror and the sickening moment when you realize your friend might not come back from this. Ryo doesn't save Akira by merging him with a demon, he breaks him open and hopes something human survives on the other side.
Humanity faces an invisible war. Demons walk among us, beings of raw supernatural power that no human can hope to beat in a fight. The only answer is radical: fight a demon with a demon. Ryo Asuka draws his kind-hearted friend Akira Fudo into a plan to have him possessed. After chaos breaks out at a club, Akira becomes host to Amon, a demon of immense strength. Because his heart is pure, he keeps control and gains demonic power guided by human morality, becoming Devilman. Now Akira stands alone against a hidden threat most people never see. He struggles to balance his human heart against new violent urges as demons turn their attention to him and bring ruin to the people he loves. In this OVA he battles Jinmen, a turtle-like demon whose shell bears living human faces, and Sirene, a fearsome winged demon, and must push himself to the limit to survive. Expect dark supernatural action with strong horror elements.
