The real gut-punch is watching these kids actually grow up. Sora doesn't save the world in these five episodes, she figures out what she wants to be when the adventure ends, and that turns out to be harder. Episode two sits with her grief and doubt long enough that you feel it too, and the show respects that more than any spectacle could. Joe and Gomamon's arc rewrites what their partnership actually meant, pulling you back into a relationship you thought you understood and showing you something true inside it. The animation won't blow you away, and some episodes misfire entirely, but the ones that land remember that Digimon Adventure was always about kids learning who they are. These shorts prove the story never really needed monsters at all.

Five animated shorts, funded through a successful crowdfunding campaign, accompany the film Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna. More than ten years have passed since the DigiDestined's first adventure. The opening short, To Sora, takes place the day before the movie, as Sora worries about what to do with her future. The remaining shorts are side stories about the DigiDestined and their partner Digimon in daily life, scenes the film had no room for, mixing comedy and drama with a slice of life feel.
