A boy named Jiang returns to the cherry blossom viewing spot his family has used for years and finds it buried in garbage. As he sits down to eat lunch there without much enthusiasm, a strange creature falls out of the sky. The newcomer is Kororin, who hails from the Star Oasis and uses his ESP to show people why caring for the environment matters. Together with Jiang's sister, the trio must stand against Syndrome, a wicked alien scheming to destroy the Earth. His plots usually turn on some environmental problem, such as opening a hole in the ozone layer, altering the weather or encouraging people to use too much electricity. The series mixes action and comedy with a science fiction premise and an ecological message.
