A single four-minute music video that moves harder than most full seasons. Yuuki Kamiya takes Hachi's song about the void, that specific ache of trying to fill yourself with something that can never work, and animates it like watching someone fracture in real time. A music video directed by Yuuki Kamiya, set to Hachi's song Donut Hole, which Kenshi Yonezu wrote with the Vocaloid GUMI on vocals. GUMI, Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka and Kagamine Rin run a scrap hauling outfit in a cluttered downtown neighborhood. They cruise the streets in a small truck, picking up discarded televisions, computers and other broken goods while goofy announcements blare from a loudspeaker. Their base is a corner unit in a shared building that calls itself a recycling shop but is mostly a warehouse of tagged junk. Soon the four get requests for items too much for them to deal with alone, and by chance some of the abandoned things land with GUMI. Meanwhile, a beautification group forms in the city center, planning to clear out the downtown area in the name of redevelopment. As that way of life comes under threat, GUMI and her friends push back. The government and the cleanup group each pursue their own aims, and news then breaks that a dangerous creature has turned up at the garbage dump, prompting a sweeping move to clear both the dump and the neighborhood.
