The original Little Star Wars already had heart, so this one doubles down on what actually mattered: giving Nobita's friends real stakes instead of leaving them on the sidelines. The animation upgrade serves the story, not the other way around. Even Suneo stops being comic relief and becomes someone you're rooting for. It trades pure slapstick for something quieter, which costs you some laughs, but gains you a reason to actually care if they make it out alive.
Nobita's lazy summer takes a cosmic turn when a tiny alien named Papi crash-lands in his backyard. Papi is the president of distant planet Pirika, fleeing a rebellion that threatens his home and everyone he cares about. With Doraemon's shrinking gadget in hand, the group becomes unlikely friends with the pint-sized extraterrestrial, playing and bonding despite the enormous size difference. Their peaceful days shatter when a massive whale-shaped warship descends on Earth, hunting Papi with ruthless intent. Guilt-ridden over dragging his new friends into danger, Papi prepares to face his enemies alone. But Doraemon and the others refuse to abandon him. They blast off to Pirika itself, racing to defend both a friend and an entire world from those who would conquer it. What starts as a goofy summer adventure transforms into an urgent mission across the stars, blending heartfelt friendship with sci-fi action as the group discovers that size has nothing to do with courage.
