Nobita finally gets to be right about something, and the movie lets him stay right even when nobody believes him. The bunny colony he builds becomes real proof, not just his usual tall tale nobody wants to hear. By the time mysterious kids show up who know exactly what he's talking about, you realize the show spent decades earning the moment when Nobita's imagination stops being a joke and becomes the world.

During a Japanese robotic mission to search for life on the far side of the moon, Nobita watches from Earth and sees the moon turn yellow. With Doraemon's help, the pair travel there and use animal clay to create rabbits that will build a colony of their own. Back home, Nobita tells his class about the adventure, but nobody believes him. Then a new student named Luca arrives with his sister, and the two seem to come from somewhere very far away. The film is a science fiction adventure in the Doraemon franchise.
