This is the payoff Boichi's panels have been screaming toward since Senku spat out that first "ten billion percent." Cour 2 stops pretending it's a survival show about making soap and cola, and swings fully into escalation mode: chase sequences, strategy duels, antagonists smart enough to actually threaten the Kingdom of Science instead of getting outmaneuvered by a lightbulb. Purists will grumble that the science budget got spent on action montages, and they're not wrong, the lectures thin out. But watch what it buys you. Tsukasa back on his feet, Chrome and Kohaku and Ryusui all cashing in seasons of accumulated trust, Xeno and Stanley treated as equals rather than obstacles, and the Why Man question finally leaning on Byakuya's whole reason for leaving those records behind. Senku spent four seasons insisting sentiment was inefficient. Then his father's voice shows up in the math anyway.

Senkuu Ishigami and the Kingdom of Science manage to hold off the forces of Dr. Xeno, whose science is more advanced than their own, through a clever strategic move. A truce between the two sides lets them found Corn City in North America, a foothold for a population they hope will grow. Senkuu and part of his team then head south toward the Amazon, the point where the petrification beam struck, aiming to build Superalloy City and move their spaceship project forward. Hostile pursuers stay on their trail as they race through the jungle, while surprising allies and new inventions help them along and bring Senkuu nearer to the truth behind the petrification. This second cour of the fourth season mixes action, adventure, comedy and science fiction.
