Ash's dragon doesn't show up as a majestic beast, it shows up as a naked girl who immediately hates him. The premise is stupid on purpose, and the show commits so hard to the bit that the ecchi stops feeling like filler and becomes the actual comedy. You're watching a guy get demolished by circumstance while his dragon torments him about it, and somehow that friction carries twelve episodes.

First-year student Ash Blake bears an oversized star-shaped brand at Ansarivan Dragonar Academy, a mark that promises he will one day master a dragon. Riding and taming dragons comes naturally to most of his classmates, but Ash's dragon has never shown up, and that makes him the school's biggest joke and its top problem child. Then his dragon finally awakens, and it looks like no dragon anyone has seen before: it takes the form of a beautiful girl. She has plenty of attitude and wastes no time telling Ash that she is the master and he is the servant. The result is a fantasy comedy with ecchi elements, in which Ash's troubles with dragon riding are only getting started.
