Joe's already learned the hardest lesson: winning doesn't matter if you lose yourself getting there. Now Abaku comes back as something Joe can't just draw his way out of, and the question shifts from "can I win this duel" to "can I save someone who doesn't want saving." The game was always about the person holding the cards, not the cards themselves, and this sequel finally makes Joe pay for knowing it too late.
