Durarara!! stops trying to be a mystery and just lets you sit in a room with these people. A hot pot dinner becomes the realest thing the series has done, character voices cutting through steam and bad jokes, nobody performing anymore. This is what the whole show was building toward: not answers, just the weight of knowing these people well enough to see who they actually are when nothing else is at stake.

One night, Mikado Ryuugamine takes up an invitation to Shinra Kishitani's apartment, hoping to catch up with Celty after a long time apart. To his surprise, a big crowd of well-known Ikebukuro figures has gathered there for a hot pot party, and his Raira Academy classmate Anri Sonohara is among them. The two sit down together as several guests begin recalling the past: Mikado remembers a childhood adventure with Masaomi Kida, Anri describes how her friendship with Mika Harima began, and Shizuo Heiwajima recounts first meeting Tom Tanaka. This supernatural special is a single extra episode that was shown in theaters.
