Mikado's descent into playing god with the Dollars stops being about power and starts being about watching a good person rationalize himself into monstrosity. Masaomi and Anri are too busy saving him to notice they're already lost in their own justifications. The show refuses to let you pick a side because every side is right and wrong at the exact same time, and by the time you realize that, you're complicit too.

Mikado Ryuugamine keeps purging the Dollars from within, guided by his own twisted idea of justice. Masaomi Kida hopes to pull his friend back to his senses by bringing the Yellow Scarves together again. Neither of them knows that a far more powerful force is about to join their fight for control, one their friend Anri Sonohara knows all too well. At Shinra's apartment, a gathered group senses they are close to something that will change their lives and throw Ikebukuro into confusion. Their fears come true when news reports of Celty's head being found in public spread everywhere, just as Kasane Kujiragi starts to act. The Dollars, the Yellow Scarves and Saika all compete for power as the story heads toward its conclusion.
