Elle Ragu fights like she's made of liquid, capoeira-inspired footwork that doesn't exist anywhere else in anime, spinning through combat like gravity is a suggestion. The show builds something genuinely fun in its first half: a woman who is casually, completely badass without needing to be "girlish" about it, teaching her bratty brother how to survive in a world that wants both of them dead. The second half collapses into incoherence and the ending betrays what came before it, but those early episodes where Elle's just solving problems with style and refusal to lose are still worth the price of admission.
