A middle schooler with telekinesis and a teleportation gun solves mysteries on a whim because someone needs help. It's 1987 magical girl comedy without the glacial pacing of its contemporaries, moving fast enough to stack gags on top of actual supernatural problem-solving. The show knows Mami is overpowered and doesn't pretend otherwise; it just gets weird with it instead.

Mami Sakura is an ordinary junior high school student until she suddenly gains supernatural powers. With abilities such as telekinesis and telepathy, and with help from her best friend Mr. Takahata, she sets out to solve mysterious incidents. Whenever she senses that someone needs help, she uses her Teleportation Gun to transport herself to them, then puts her psychic powers to work to rescue those in trouble. Adapted from the Fujiko F. Fujio manga, the long-running TV series blends comedy, ecchi and supernatural elements.
