Sakura's happiness is a weapon that destroys everything around her, and Momiji shows up to stop it, except Momiji is broke and keeps getting caught in the blast radius. The show treats cosmic imbalance like a slapstick problem, which means every attempt to fix the world's equilibrium becomes another disaster. You watch a poverty god slowly realize she can't win against someone whose superpower is just being aggressively, catastrophically lucky.

Ichiko Sakura has it all: looks, brains, money and a seemingly endless supply of good fortune. The catch is that her luck comes from unknowingly siphoning happiness energy from the people around her, and the drain has thrown the world out of balance. Momiji Binboda, a hapless poverty goddess who lives in a box under a bridge, arrives to break the news and take the stolen fortune back before others are left with none at all. Ichiko refuses to give it up, and with help from the wandering monk Bobby Statice she drives Momiji off. The goddess returns with backup, including her teddy bear familiar Kumagai and the masochistic dog god Momoo Inugami, and Ichiko's once easy life turns into a daily supernatural comedy brawl over her luck.
