Mizunoe Ume joins his school's student council for one reason: academic salvation. He is a first-year at Fujinari Academy who does well in Japanese literature but struggles so badly in science that advancing is in doubt, so he hopes council work will shore up his record. The plan is simple. The reality is anything but. His fellow members are all odd in their own ways, among them a charismatic president who is shy underneath, a kind but intimidating treasurer, a cheeky boy, and a tiny secretary who acts like a stray cat. They are strange, but also oddly cute and endearing, and Mizunoe finds himself stuck with them and all the chaos they bring, in a comedy of lively everyday school life.
