Nozomi Onda is fourteen and wants only one thing: to play beautiful soccer. Her school has a boys' soccer club but no team for girls, so she spends her time on the bench and keeps pressing the coach to let her play. Even if she got into official matches, her opponents would be boys with a physical advantage over her. When a boy from her past confronts her on the street, she decides she cannot wait any longer. She sets out to take the field in the coming season and prove to Tani, a rival player and former childhood friend, that she can play as well as any boy. This film adaptation of Naoshi Arakawa's sports manga is a drama about a girl determined to play.
