A boy gets asked to run away. The entire film holds its breath around that one question, turning a single summer day into something that feels like it could break the world. During one day of summer vacation, Norimichi and his friends chase a curious question: do fireworks look round or flat when seen from the side? Norimichi is torn when Nazuna, the classmate he and his friend Yuusuke both have a crush on, reveals she is running away from home and wants him to come with her. When their escape goes wrong, a glowing orb she holds gives them another chance to stay together, but each reset pulls them further from the real world.
