Episode 14 is what the main series should have given you earlier: Ridget's entire world compressed into one quiet afternoon, showing you exactly why she fights so hard to keep Gargantia alive. Ledo and Amy actually talk like two people figuring each other out instead of dancing around it. Episode 15 exists mostly to remind you why you liked these characters in the first place, which is not nothing, even if it's not essential.

A two-episode OVA follow-up to Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, counted as episodes 14 and 15 and released with the first and third home video volumes of the series. The original story centers on Ledo, a young lieutenant of the Human Galactic Alliance who, along with his humanoid mobile weapon Chamber, is pulled through a distortion of space and time during a battle against the Hidiaazu. He wakes on a flooded Earth, where people survive in fleets of huge ships by salvaging relics from the ocean floor, and lands with the fleet called Gargantia. The extra episodes are labeled action, mecha and science fiction.
