Marino Kouya is a fifth grader who loves Gear Fighting, a sport where small mechanical vehicles clash in ring battles. His late brother Yuhya, killed in an accident four years ago, was once the Asian Cup champion, but Kouya's skills fall far short of his. When most of the team defects to a rival club formed by former teammate Manganji Takeshi, his brother's Crush Gear Club is left facing closure. Refusing to give up, Kouya challenges Takeshi and sets out to restore the club while chasing his own dream of becoming a champion. The atmosphere mixes the desperation of underdogs with the energy of competitive sports action.
