The OVA episodes deepen what the TV series already proved: that naming something is a responsibility that never leaves you alone. Ryuudou's curse doesn't soften in these later chapters, it hardens, as the forgotten gods grow stranger and the cost of knowing their true names cuts deeper. The Edo setting transforms again, collapsing under the weight of prayers that should have died generations ago but didn't.

Ghost Slayers Ayashi: Inferno is a five-episode OVA from 2007, bundled with the sixth, seventh and eighth DVD volumes of Ghost Slayers Ayashi. Its story picks up half a year after the television series ends. That series is set in a famine-stricken Edo troubled by the Youi, old and forgotten gods born of human prayers, fears and desires, and centers on Yukiatsu Ryuudou, a wanderer who spent decades refusing his own name. Expect supernatural action and drama in the same world.
