Tagami Yu sets out for Austral Island, which lies far south of Samoa and has been struck from the official records, to learn why it vanished. With him are Dr. Waive, an old friend of his father, the doctor's daughter Doris, and the Captain, a friend of the doctor. On the way they come under attack from GAIL, a global conglomerate, and from the Cougar Connection gang led by Lady Lynx. They reach the island, only for a strange monster to threaten them. As death seems certain, a blue giant robot appears and destroys it. The islanders call it Gorg, the Messenger of the God, and though it is beyond human understanding, it feels oddly warm and familiar to Yu. After slipping away from another GAIL assault, Gorg leads Yu underground, where he finds alien relics and an alien just waking from 30,000 years of sleep.
