A plague sweeps the globe in 2030, transforming infected humans into grotesque creatures called Gibias. The virus takes different forms depending on age, sex, and race, creating a wide variety of monsters across a devastated landscape. Japan becomes a warzone of monsters and desperation. Then two warriors arrive from centuries past: a samurai and a ninja who have traveled from the early Edo period into this ruined future. They're joined by a determined doctor working to develop a cure for the virus. Together, this unlikely trio moves through the wasteland, fighting off waves of Gibias while dodging outlaws who prey on travelers for food. What emerges is action horror with a samurai edge, as the time-displaced pair face monsters and hostile humans alike on a dangerous journey to save mankind.
