A dog searches for his father across a brutal landscape, gathering strays and outcasts into a family that will not survive intact. Every friendship costs something, most of them paid in blood. The animation stumbles in stretches, but the emotional gut-punch never wavers, by the time you understand what leadership actually means in this world, you've already lost someone who mattered.

Weed is a dog who overhears something that changes his life: his father is Gin, leader of the Ohu dogs. Gin once guided that pack to a win over Akakabuto, a monstrous bear. Resolved to find his father at any cost, Weed sets out on a journey, and along the way he makes many allies and runs into many foes. The story is an action adventure with a dramatic streak.
