The girls are not fighting tanks this time. They're fighting over who gets to eat the last taiyaki, which somehow hits harder than any actual battle in the franchise because it strips away the premise and leaves you with what you actually came for: watching these characters lose their minds over something stupid together. This is what happens when you trust the audience enough to just let them hang out.

Girls und Panzer: Taiyaki War! is a single-episode comedy OVA from 2020, released as a bonus on the Blu-ray and DVD of the second Girls und Panzer das Finale film. It is a short extra that accompanies the main feature on disc, and its title points to taiyaki, the fish-shaped pastry.
