A boy raised by gods in the human world has to learn what humans actually want from him before he can become one himself. The romance with Tenko hits because it's built on the one relationship where he doesn't have divine power to fall back on. Watching a god figure out that love is the only thing he can't control is the whole show, and it works.

Samatarou looks like a normal high school student, yet his father is a god. His mother is a deity too, and his sisters are in line to become goddesses themselves. The family lives among humans so that Samatarou can study how people live and one day make a better god. Tenko, an angel born at the same moment he was, has been assigned to look after him, and the two have always been close friends. Things change when a transfer student named Kumiko arrives and Samatarou falls for her. He resolves to win her over without relying on divine powers, a choice that lands him in trouble, especially since his family keeps trying a little too hard to help. The mix is comedy, drama, fantasy and romance.
