Onei Jinushi and her twin brother Junichiro live carefree lives in the lower-class neighborhoods of Tokyo, where they keep running into the local people in encounters that are as warm as they are funny. Among the familiar faces is Shizuka, a waitress at a local restaurant. The comedy is adapted from Tetsu Adachi's manga Baka-Kyoudai, which Kodansha has published irregularly in Young Magazine since 1999 and which won an award of excellence at the 7th Cultural Media Arts Festival in 2003.
