People born with blank books of fate instead of predetermined ones become the only force that can rewrite reality when Chaos Tellers corrupt the world's stories. Each episode strips a fairy tale down to its skeleton and rebuilds it around characters who get to choose their own ending instead of living someone else's script. The premise collapses under repetition after a few episodes, but those early arcs nail something genuine: the weight of understanding that your story could have gone a different way.

Every person in this world carries a Book of Fate, written by the mysterious Story Tellers, that lays out their entire life before they live it. Some Story Tellers turn rogue: the Chaos Tellers secretly rewrite these books to insert disaster and ruin the stories they touch. Ex, Reina, Tao and Shane were born with blank books, and society shuns them for it. They leave their own stories behind in hope of a better life, and in the wider world they meet well-known fairy tale figures such as Cinderella, Momotarou and Snow White. As holders of blank books, they are among the few able to oppose the Chaos Tellers, and they set out to stop them and bring peace back to the stories. Adapted from a Square Enix role-playing game, the TV series mixes action, adventure and fantasy.
