Takuma spends the series with his sight restored, watching a girl the entire village has decided to hate, and choosing to love her anyway. That choice costs him everything he's built in that village. The show understands that real love isn't the rush of connection, it's the decision to stay when staying destroys you.

Takuma Hirose is a high school student who has lost his sight, though no one knows why. After the sudden death of his mother leaves him withdrawn and lonely, he leaves the city to live with his uncle in a rural village and enrolls at the local school. Three girls there come to matter to him: Hayami, whom the village resents for some reason and who rejects his offers of friendship; Hinata, eager to please but perhaps hiding a motive; and Otoha, cheerful and mysterious, who wears the school uniform yet never seems to attend class. When Otoha briefly restores his sight, Takuma uses it to help others and tries to support Hayami, while sad secrets surface in the village. Romance mingles with mystery and sorrow.
