SYNOPSIS
In the waning days of the Edo period, a perpetually broke family stumbles through life with zero regard for responsibility. Cloud and Turtle are parents to two restless children, yet they'd rather spend their days chasing leisure, romance, and whatever scheme might put a smile on their faces than actually work for a living. Cloud's eye constantly wanders toward pretty women in town, much to his wife's exasperation, while their kids run wild and absorb absolutely none of the lessons they should be learning. Money is always tight, food is often scarce, and their neighbors watch this chaotic household with a mixture of pity and bewilderment. What keeps this family afloat isn't discipline or ambition,it's sheer dumb luck, clever improvisation, and an attitude that tomorrow's problems can wait until tomorrow. This film captures the comedic absurdity of a household that refuses to grow up, set against the backdrop of a nation about to transform forever. It's a lighthearted romp through poverty, bad decisions, and the kind of carefree existence that could only exist in a world about to vanish.
