This one asks you to sit still, which is not what the title promises. "Lonely Cats Battle Royale" sets up a fighting bracket, a tournament frame that should detonate, and then the OVA spends its runtime in a lower register: quiet, talky, more mood than mayhem. Fans of the 1987 original will feel the drop immediately, and most reviewers say so out loud. What survives is the soundtrack, which carries scenes the animation cannot, and a premise that keeps you leaning forward waiting for a payoff the single episode never fully delivers. It is a fragment, honestly, a 1990 girl-gang artifact that sat unsubtitled for decades until someone finally cared enough to fix that. You watch it because it exists and because you already watched the first one. That is the whole pitch, and for the right collector it is enough.
