Ohana finds her mother's old diary and realizes she's been angry at a ghost, not a person. The blackout forces the inn staff into smaller, quieter moments where you see how much they actually care about each other. It's a movie that understands the difference between forgiving someone and understanding them, and it knows those are not the same thing.

In the days leading up to the Bonbori Festival, Ohana's friend Yuina, daughter of the owner of the rival Fukuya Inn, arrives at Kissuiso to train, and Ohana's grandmother has her look after the inexperienced girl. While tidying up after Yuina, Ohana finds an old logbook kept by Beans that records the time when her mother Satsuki was young and living at the inn. Reading through the entries gives Ohana a view of her mother's struggles, and of the wish to shine that Satsuki once voiced, and she starts to feel that the two of them may be more alike than she thought. Meanwhile, the rest of the staff have their hands full with a power outage. The film is a slice-of-life drama with comedic touches.
